Update: Iran's Guard says a second supertanker hit a mine in Hormuz; CENTCOM says 97% of ships get through

Iran's Revolutionary Guard navy said Saturday a second supertanker carrying more than 2 million barrels of crude struck a naval mine in the Strait of Hormuz, causing a major explosion in its engine room and leaving it immobilized; as with the first claimed strike, it did not name the ship or say whether anyone was hurt, Anadolu reported. U.S. Central Command spokesman Capt. Tim Hawkins told Fox News Digital that about 97% of ships seeking to transit the strait have done so without being hit, and CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper said about 400 merchant ships sailed through in the last seven days. Cooper also cited the International Maritime Organization as reporting that more than 20 civilian mariners have been killed by Iran's attacks on shipping since February.
