U.S. officials told CBS the Qeshm Island strikes were limited and defensive, after Iran's Revolutionary Guard fired on a U.S. aircraft, the BBC reported; the IRGC said it downed two U.S. MQM-170 drones and an MQ-9 drone. On Tuesday Iran's chief negotiator, parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said "the ball is now in America's court to prevent war." Qatar's foreign ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said both sides were reviewing its proposals and "remain committed to the negotiation process."
