Secret Service director says threats against protectees are up "just over 40%" from last year

Secret Service Director Sean Curran told CBS' "60 Minutes" on Sunday that threats against the agency's full-time protectees "are up just over 40% than they were last year," calling it "a massive increase." Curran and Deputy Director Matt Quinn pointed to social media and mental health issues, said the agency is apolitical and said it does not weigh threats by political side, Fox News reported. The interview comes as the agency faces scrutiny after three officials were placed on leave in August.
