Isaias made landfall near Destin, Florida, Friday night as a Category 2 hurricane with 105 mph winds, then weakened sharply as it moved north through Alabama, according to the National Hurricane Center and the Associated Press. More than 726,000 customers in Florida and Alabama were without power early Saturday, roads in Destin were flooded and Pensacola police warned residents to stay off debris-covered streets. Forecasters expect 4 to 8 inches of rain or more through the weekend from southern Alabama, the Florida Panhandle and Big Bend into southwest Georgia, with a tornado risk into Georgia and the Carolinas.
