Trump tells AI chiefs U.S. must keep lead: ‘Whoever wins superintelligence wins’

At a White House gathering with AI and tech leaders on Tuesday, President Donald Trump said the United States is leading China and others on artificial intelligence and that he does not want to “stifle growth,” Fox News reported. “Whoever wins superintelligence wins,” Trump said, adding that companies must “behave honestly” and that the Justice Department and FBI exist if firms go down a “dark and dangerous path.” Fox News listed attendees including Elon Musk, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, OpenAI’s Greg Brockman, Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Google’s Sundar Pichai. The White House schedule had listed a closed-press “Meeting and Luncheon on Super Intelligence” at 12:30 p.m. ET in the East Room.
