Evening Wrap: IRGC urges U.S. voters to punish Trump; Iran still awaits Hormuz reply
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on Tuesday released a 25-page open letter addressed to Americans urging them to oppose President Donald Trump in the Nov. 3 midterm elections, the New York Post reported; IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi called Trump an “inveterate liar” and claimed the war was collapsing the U.S. economy. Separately, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran was still awaiting a formal U.S. response through Qatari mediators on its proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with Doha hoping for an answer by Wednesday. Trump said Tuesday the conflict “will be over with very soon” and that Iran “will not have a nuclear weapon,” Fox News reported.
