Rubio: thwarted UK base plot ‘clearly involves’ a foreign actor
Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Fox News’ “Hannity” on Monday night that a thwarted weekend terror plot near RAF Fairford in Britain — a base used by U.S. forces — “clearly involves the hands of a foreign actor,” and that more details would follow. British police arrested five British nationals in their early 20s early Sunday after vans were found near the base, then released them on bail Monday while continuing to examine whether individuals acted for a foreign state, Fox News reported. President Donald Trump told reporters Monday the incident “might be” linked to Iran and said he would not have released the suspects on bail; Iran has denied involvement.
