Update: White House says no diesel export-ban decision; weighing softer options
A White House official told Yahoo Finance on Monday that “no policy decision has been made” on a diesel export ban and that President Donald Trump “is evaluating all the options on the table.” Trump told Fox on Sunday the White House was thinking about a ban “very seriously” but acknowledged it can raise gasoline prices; Energy Secretary Chris Wright has pushed voluntary export limits with refiners instead of a blunt mandate. AAA put the national average diesel price at about $6.45 a gallon Monday, slightly below last week’s record near $6.52–$6.53, Yahoo Finance and CNBC reported.
