Update: Trump signs order establishing America.gov as federal front door
President Donald Trump on Tuesday signed an executive order titled “Streamlining Access to Government Services Through America.gov,” directing the General Services Administration, the National Design Studio and OMB to establish America.gov as the single online point of entry for covered federal services and to integrate Login.gov for authentication, according to the White House text. A White House fact sheet said Americans can already ask questions on the site and that passport renewal and Medicare enrollment tasks are planned later this year as agencies integrate; covered services exclude IRS tax filing and national-security-sensitive War and Intelligence Community services. Earlier Tuesday at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia said the portal combines information from 29,000 government sites and that formal form-filling was planned for 2027, Fox News reported.
