Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva beat right-wing Senator Flávio Bolsonaro with 51.79% of the vote to 48.21%, a margin of about 4.4 million votes, the BBC reported, after Bolsonaro had led the first round on Oct. 4. Bolsonaro called for the result to be annulled over an "unacceptable" two-hour voting extension granted by Supreme Court Justice Cristiano Zanin, even though both campaigns had asked for more voting time, Al Jazeera reported; experts told BBC Brasil annulment is unlikely. Donald Trump Jr. criticized the extension, saying the press would "lose their minds" if a right-leaning government had done it.
