Gunmen kill seven at a funeral in a Greek Orthodox church in Jordan; officials call it terrorism

Gunmen opened fire on a funeral at a Greek Orthodox church in Humud village in Jordan's Karak governorate on Friday, killing seven people and injuring 34, Public Security Directorate chief Maj. Gen. Obaidullah Al-Maaytah said, according to Jordan's state news agency Petra. Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya called it a terrorist operation and the BBC reported he blamed a "group of extremists"; the attackers fled, no one has claimed responsibility, and King Abdullah II vowed the "harshest penalties."
