Update: Houthis claim another missile at Riyadh’s airport as Pakistani jets join strikes on the group and Syria weighs sending forces

Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis said Thursday they attacked King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with a ballistic missile, hours after Saudi Arabia said an earlier attack on the same airport killed one person; Saudi authorities had not immediately confirmed the latest strike, Iran International reported. A senior Pakistani military official told the New York Times that Pakistan Air Force jets are taking part in strikes against the Houthis, and a former U.S. Army attaché said analysts estimate about 8,000 Pakistani troops are deployed to Saudi Arabia, according to Iran International. Syria is also considering sending forces to help Saudi Arabia after this week’s attacks killed three people at Saudi airports, Reuters reported, citing a U.S. official and a Syrian defense official.
