Update: Trump says Iran decision coming—‘easy way or the hard way’
Update since Saturday evening’s brief: President Trump told reporters Saturday as he left the White House for an Ohio midterm swing that he will make “a decision” on Iran, saying Tehran has been “decimated” and “the only question is, it’ll either be the easy way or the hard way,” Iran International and Al Arabiya reported. Trump also said Iran is “virtually giving up” plans for a nuclear weapon while insisting Tehran will never be allowed one. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, speaking in Colorado Springs, said the Pentagon is preserving “all the options” Trump needs and declined to confirm whether the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group will deploy to the Middle East.
