Trump announces $90 one-time Medicare Part B payments for more than 20 million seniors

President Trump announced Oct. 2 that the federal government will make one-time $90 payments to help more than 20 million Medicare Part B enrollees with premiums, drawing on the Medicare Improvement Fund, according to a White House fact sheet. Most eligible seniors are to receive a $90 direct deposit in early October; those without direct deposit get a check to their Medicare mailing address. Enrollees whose premiums are already paid by Medicaid, or who pay an Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount, do not qualify. The White House said the fund has $2 billion from Congress for fee-for-service improvements and had never before been used this way; seniors can call 1-800-MEDICARE to check eligibility.
