Russia strikes Kyiv’s Northern Bridge, suspending traffic for a third day

A Russian strike damaged Kyiv’s Northern Bridge early Saturday, suspending traffic and causing backups for a third day, the Associated Press reported. Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said the blast damaged the road surface and trolleybus cables; no casualties were reported. Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed the attack, claiming the bridge supports Ukrainian troop and cargo movements, a day after Russian assaults forced full or partial closure of three of Kyiv’s six road bridges over the Dnipro. Moldovan President Maia Sandu said five Russian air-attack weapons, including Banderol missiles and drones, violated Moldova’s airspace and exploded on its soil Saturday.
