Vice President JD Vance chaired an unannounced Camp David meeting Friday of top national-security aides on next steps in the Iran war and the Saudi-Houthi conflict in Yemen, three U.S. officials told Axios. Participants included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, White House envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine; the White House declined to comment. Axios reported Trump is considering resuming major combat operations in Iran as talks stall—he said Thursday, “either Iran signs the deal, or it won't exist any longer”—while Saudis urge U.S. airstrikes on the Houthis, which Trump has been leaning against. Asked Friday about his next Iran move, Trump said, “If I told you, you would have a major story… Iran is not doing well.”
