NASA names SpaceX Crew-14: four astronauts to fly Dragon to the space station no earlier than spring 2027
NASA said Thursday that NASA astronauts Kayla Barron and Chris Birch will serve as commander and pilot of NASA's SpaceX Crew-14 mission, with JAXA astronaut Makoto Suwa and Roscosmos cosmonaut Arutyun Kiviryan as mission specialists, launching to the International Space Station no earlier than spring 2027; NASA's X account said no earlier than March 2027. NASA said it is the 14th commercial crew rotation with SpaceX and that the crew will run science and technology demonstrations to help prepare for future missions to the Moon and Mars. It will be Barron's second station flight (she flew on Crew-3 in 2021) and the first spaceflight for Birch, Suwa and Kiviryan. Crew-13 is scheduled to launch first, on Oct. 1, according to SpaceX's launch schedule.
