U.S. Attorney Michael Heyman said Friday that a New York Times report on the alleged involvement of Mary Peltola's campaign and the DSCC in recruiting a second "Dan Sullivan" has "resulted in a significant surge of law enforcement assets to Alaska," the New York Post reported. Peltola's former campaign manager told the Times aides were told to look for people named Dan Sullivan to confuse voters; Peltola said she "knew nothing" about any other candidate and is "not interested in tricking voters." Heyman said DOJ's separate lawsuit only seeks to preserve ballots and plans to ask for expedited discovery by Monday.
